A popular upscale restaurant has become one of Mississauga’s newest options for date nights, girls’ nights and other special occasions.

Habitat Social Modern Kitchen, located at 70 Lakeshore Rd E. in Port Credit, is best known for its fusion food menu and eco-luxe interior.

The modern Canadian/fusion restaurant and cocktail lounge offers creative takes on a variety of dishes blending unique Asian flavors with different types of cuisines: Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Italian and more. The result: new contemporary dishes offering a symphony of flavors, beautifully presented and aesthetically pleasing.

  • Coconut Ebi Mayo – Taiwanese x Singaporean: This twist on a popular Taiwanese dish features coconut shrimp drizzled with sweet and savory pineapple mayonnaise and kaya jam (caramelized coconut jam native to Singapore).
  • Tuna carpaccio – Italian x Mexican: Thinly sliced ​​sushi grade Itsumo tuna fillet, Mexican mole, roasted garlic aioli, topped with arugula salad, fresh lemon juice, capers, Parmigiano Reggiano and cilantro oil. Perfect umami bomb of flavors with a balance of fat, acid and salt.

Habitat Social Modern Kitchen is run by Jordan Chang, who has always had a passion for preparing great food. He was previously known for running his own catering business and delighting guests at markets and festivals with his popular fried chicken recipe, which he learned during a trip to Korea.

Eventually, his love of cooking led him to leave his longtime nursing job and pursue his true passion: opening his own restaurant.

“Everything about this restaurant is a labor of love. We don’t use anything out of a can or jar, nothing frozen. We prepare everything fresh on site,” says restaurant owner Jordan Chang.

“I just want people to enjoy the moment, whether you’re with family or friends, eating, sharing different stories. That’s why the restaurant is called Habitat Social: it’s where the community as a whole socializes.

The restaurant also has a popular lunch menuand is open for brunch weekends and public holidays.
