Bermuda Longtails win at Kempton Park

Bermuda racehorse Longtail lost his maiden title after winning the Unibet Zero Mission/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies Novice Stakes at Kempton Park in Surrey, England, yesterday (October 30).

Ridden by Jason Watson, clad in pink and navy silks, Bermuda Longtail prevailed at 7-4 in the seven-furlong race in a field of ten runners.

The two-year-old filly, who finished second on her debut at Kempton a few weeks ago, led the race from start to finish in a performance described as “perfect” by Bermuda Racing chairman Simon Scupham.

“She broke well and led from start to finish, without breaking a sweat,” he said.

“So much to look forward to, especially since she showed us tonight that she can run a distance of up to a mile.

“There are of course important races over this distance which could come into play at three years old!

Since its inception over a decade ago, Bermuda Racing has owned several Bermuda-themed horses, including Johnny Barnes, Queen Of Bermuda, Horseshoe Bay and Flora Of Bermuda.
