Here’s why Ana Matronic isn’t on the Scissor Sisters comeback tour

The Scissor Sisters have announced a huge comeback tour in 2025 – but fans are wondering why singer Ana Matronic isn’t in the line-up.

The New York group is preparing to perform several times in the United Kingdom and Ireland, to celebrate the anniversary of their eponymous debut album. Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis will all return for the tour, but singer Ana Matronic will not be involved. As a key part of the original band, many wonder why the Scissor Sisters decided to embark on touring as a trio.

Why isn’t Ana Matronic on the Scissor Sisters 2025 tour?

Scissor Sisters addressed Ana Matronic’s absence in their press release announcing the tour. According to the group’s statement, the singer “has other projects she is focusing on at the moment,” meaning she won’t be able to join them.

Del Marquis said the group had “spent a lot of time collectively thinking about what we can add to our show that in no way replaces Ana.” He noted that the group wanted to “pay homage to her” and that she was part of the “spirit” of the Scissor Sisters.

Vocalist Shears said the band’s reappearance as a trio was a “fun challenge” and that they all wanted to make it an “interesting kind of difference”.

The band’s tour will see them play several dates in May 2025, including the O2 in London, Co-op Live in Manchester and 3Arena in Dublin. The band will reunite for the first time in over a decade, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album.
