• Dodge’s Direct Connection returns to SEMA with two new crate engine blocks.
  • The Hellephant A30 block costs $8,815 and is aimed at DIY builders.
  • Dodge will also offer three new supercharger kits for the 6.2-liter Hellcrate V8.

Stellantis’ star attraction at SEMA Show is a Plymouth GTX electromod, but the company still has gas flowing through its veins. That much is clear today as they announced two new crate engines that will be available through Dodge Direct Connection.

The elephant in the room is a block version of Helléphantknown as the HEMI A30 426 Supercharged Crate engine. While the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, it produces 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 hp) and 950 lb-ft (1,287 Nm) of torque when fully assembled. Pricing starts at $8,815 and the company said it will be “available in various machined configurations.”

The Hellephant is joined by a Drag Pak 354 Supercharged Crate HEMI engine. This block costs $10,570 and looks geared toward the drag strip.

It costs $11,995 and includes a larger 3.0-liter twin-screw supercharger, a 105 mm butterfly and high flow rate. fuel injectors capable of delivering up to 164 gallons (621 liters) of fuel per hour.
