Jinger Duggar says her family sometimes doesn’t like the reality show

Jinger Duggar Claims The Family Reality Show Was Sometimes Cut In Ways We Didn't Like 450

Jinger Duggar claimed she and her family didn’t always like the way they were portrayed on their reality show 19 Kids and They Matter.

“Maybe we felt like some things started to get cut in a way that we didn’t like,” Duggar, 31, said during Wednesday’s episode of her and her husband . Jeremy VuoloIt is eponymous podcast. “And it was like, ‘I didn’t say that.’”

Jinger is one of Jim Bob And Michelle DugarIt is 19 children. She and her family rose to fame on the TLC series that premiered in 2008. Jinger shared on Wednesday that she and her family members realized how the show’s editing didn’t match their memories.

“Or I rolled my eyes in an interview (and then) they put there next to something I said about my mom and dad,” she claimed. “And it was like, ‘No, I didn’t mean that.’”

The former reality TV star explained that she and her family usually watch “rough cuts” of episodes before they air on television. They would come back later to watch the “replays” to “see if they had put anything like that.” Jinger added that sometimes she and her family would get together and watch the show to talk about a “fun trip” they took.

“It’s really like our home videos, because many years before it came out, my parents were really good at taking home videos,” she explained.

However, once the Duggar family began filming their series, the authentic home videos captured by their parents “took a backseat” in favor of “fully produced home videos.”

Now that the series is over, Jinger wants to access the old episodes to show her children what her childhood was like. Jinger and Vuolo, 37, who ties the knot in 2016, share two daughters: Felicity, 6 years old, and Evangeline, 3 years old. The couple is currently I’m expecting baby number 3.

Throughout Jinger’s time 19 Kids and They Matterthe reality series captured countless milestones of her and her siblings. The series also followed the Duggars as they grew up with the fundamentalist Christian teachings of the Institute for Fundamentals of Life (IBLP). Jinger wrote about her experience with the conservative family in her 2023 book Become truly free.

Although Jinger does not follow the strict religious rules – like not being able to wear pants anymore – from her childhood, she has already stated that this has not diminished his love for his parents.

“I am grateful for my childhood. It wasn’t perfect. I shared a lot of difficulties that I struggled with throughout my childhood, but at the end of the day, I am grateful to my parents,” Jinger said during a June appearance on Mast And Abby HowardThe “Unplanned” podcast. “I love them, we have differences, not everything is perfect between us, but I think at the end of the day I love them and I know they know that.”
