Foursquare Light Arena broadcasts host community

A parish of Foursquare Gospel Church, The Light Arena, Yaba, Lagos, organized an awareness program titled “Soup Kitchen”. “The mission is to provide physical nourishment and spiritual direction to the needy in the community.

In a statement, the church announced the initiative, inviting residents of the community and surrounding areas to share a meal symbolizing the dignity, love and abundant grace of God, reflecting the generosity and compassion of our Lord Jesus- Christ.

The senior pastor of the church, Dupeolu Adebanjo, who referred to the book of Matthew 22 highlighting the parable of the wedding banquet, noted that the king’s order to invite to the feast read: “We call our community to participate in a party, not a party. any party, but where they are treated like kings with the greatest sense of dignity that every human being deserves. Every interaction, every plate of food, and every word of encouragement were opportunities to bring someone closer to Christ, helping them to be “clothed in the righteousness of Christ.”

Over four hundred people from the communities surrounding the church, such as Yaba, Akoka, Ebute Metta, Sabo, Abule Oja, Makoko and its environs, visited the church premises located at No. 3, Thorborn Avenue, Sabo , Yaba, Lagos, for this well-attended event.

“The success of the Soup Kitchen depends largely on the dedication of the church volunteers, who have taken on a variety of roles from meal preparation and serving to hospitality, counseling and security, and the lead pastor of Light Arena Church thanked them for their service,’ the statement read.
