Vidya Balan recalls giving ‘unsolicited advice’ to Dia Mirza, but it ended up making her stye worse: ‘I will never forget that’

Vidya Balan is all set to entertain the audience with her upcoming horror film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The Anees Bazmee film also stars Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in key roles. During an interview, Balan went back in time and recalled working with Dia Mirza. The senior star revealed he gave unwarranted advice to Mirza, which left him with a swollen eye.

While speaking to Galatta India about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Vidya Balan also spoke about her dear friend and co-star Dia Mirza. During the interaction, the Mission Mangal actress went back in time and remembered the shooting of Parineeta with Dhak Dhak star Dia. Talking about the memory, Vidya said that during filming, Mirza developed a stye on his eye. Since she had seen, as a child, her mother wrap hot rice in a cloth and hold it over her eyes with the stye, she suggested Dia do the same.

But the next day, the infection got worse. The Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein had to take the stage in sunglasses that day. “I will never forget that. I felt so bad. After that, I stopped giving unsolicited advice to anyone. But she never talked about it. She was just too nice,” Vidya revealed.

Further, Shakuntala Devi praised Dia with whom she worked in films like Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai, and then Bobby Jasoos where she was the producer of Balan. Calling it an amazing experience, the BB3 star said she didn’t know Mirza was always so sweet and loving. “Now to see her as a mother is just amazing. I have seen different avatars of her. She makes everything look effortless,” concluded Vidya Balan.

For the unknown, Balan’s upcoming horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will have a runtime of 2 hours 38 minutes including the beginning and end credits. An insider told us, “The film is in the final stage of post-production and the makers are all set to submit it to the censors in a day or two. The shooting duration of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is very similar to that of the first Bhool Bhulaiyaa film, which was 2 hours 39 minutes (159 minutes).

The film is scheduled to hit the big screens on November 1, 2024 and will once again clash with Singham.
