Election Day is only a week away and some are still wondering who to vote for.

Although the decision to vote for a candidate is a personal one, there is plenty of information available for people to make informed choices about candidates’ platforms, who they are, and what they stand for. The Tennessean, Knox News and The Commercial Appeal have compiled information on major races happening across the state, referendums and those that will impact residents of the Volunteer State.

This year is a presidential election, but there are other political offices up for grabs that could also have a direct impact on people’s lives.

Here’s how to find all the information you need before you vote.

Who is on my ballot?

Ballots may vary depending on where you live. You can find sample ballots on most county election websites. Not sure what the website is? Head to tnsos.org/elections to find your county’s election commission website.

You can also download the Tennessee voting app, GoVoteTN. The application is supported on Apple And Android systems. Not looking for another app on your phone? There is also a web version at web.go-vote-tn.elections.tn.gov.

The app allows voters to search for sample ballots, polling locations, who represents them and much more.

How many people voted early in Tennessee?

According to the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office, 1,712,451 people have voted either in person or by mail as of Monday, October 28. That’s just over 35% of registered voters in the Volunteer State.

When is Election Day 2024?

The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 5.

Is Election Day a federal holiday?

No Election Day is not a federal holiday, but some locations may be closed on Election Day depending on your area and the buildings used as polling locations.

When does early voting end in Tennessee?

Early voting has started Wednesday October 16, and cross Thursday October 31.

Early voting times and locations vary among Tennessee counties. To find out where early voting locations will be located and when they will be open, check with your local county election commission, which you can find at: sos.tn.gov/elections.

Can I leave work to vote in Tennessee?

Employers are required to provide their employees with paid leave to vote provided they have received advance notice.
