For the second time in as many days, a woman has been carjacked in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg police said officers were called to the 500 block of William Avenue on Oct. 27 around 9:15 p.m.

Police learned that a 34-year-old woman was leaving the church when three people – two men and a woman – approached her.

Police said one of the people was armed and the trio demanded his keys, forced him out of the vehicle and stole his property before driving off in his vehicle.

The woman did not require medical attention, police said.

The major crimes unit is now looking for the three suspects.

The woman is described as Aboriginal, approximately five feet five inches tall, of skinny build, and was wearing a red hoodie with a gray jacket and gray pants. Police also said she had a small tattoo near her right eye.

The second person is believed to be an Aboriginal man, approximately five feet five inches tall, also of lean build. Police said he was wearing a baseball cap and a gray hoodie.

The final person is also believed to be an Indigenous man, approximately five feet six inches tall and wearing a gray hoodie or jacket.

If anyone has any information on any of these people they are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

This incident comes after a woman was hit by her own vehicle during a carjacking on Saturday.

It happened in the 300 block of York Avenue around 2:12 p.m. in the parking lot at York and Carlton Street.

In the event, the woman was crushed. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later restored to stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
