High threat of grass/bush fire due to dry conditions and gusty winds

(KFVS) – We will have a few warm and windy days before a cold front on Thursday.

Despite dew points slowly increasing, dry and windy conditions will increase the threat of grass and bush fires.

The wind will be gusty from the south.

Today will be very hot with temperatures in the low to mid 80s.

Wednesday also promises to be very hot and windy.

A cold front will move into the Heartland late Wednesday night into early Thursday.

Moderate and widespread rain appears likely as a band of showers and perhaps a thunderstorm develops.

The threat of severe storms appears minimal, but perhaps some thunder and lightning.

Rain is expected to extend eastward during the afternoon, with clearing and cooler conditions collecting or dealing with Halloween night.

The weekend is expected to be generally mild and dry, but a few showers could develop Saturday evening and Sunday in our western counties.

There is a better chance of rain early next week.
