Alternatively, you can purchase downloadable codes from websites such as Amazon or pick up a deluxe glossy edition at GAME.

Speaking of which, there are several different versions of the game up for pre-order. Each comes with a different number of planes and airports included; standard (70 planes, 150 airports), luxury (80 planes, 155 airports), premium luxury (95 planes, 160 airports) and aviation edition (125 planes, 160 airports).

Finally, there is a limited collector’s edition that includes many additional goodies, including a luggage tag, flight bag, Antonov An-225 model airplane, and a giant steelbook.

Since the game is made by Microsoft, it’s no surprise that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is exclusive to Xbox when it comes to consoles.

As mentioned above, it will also be available through Game Pass on release day.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Gameplay and Story Details

Unless you conjure up a fascinating mystery in your head, there’s no real story in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as you might expect.

However, there is the usual Career game mode, in which you work your way up the ranks, gaining experience and certifications until you can fly the way you want.

There is also an option to play the role of a photographer and travel the world taking photos of landmarks and areas of natural beauty in a series of challenges – it feels like a virtual vacation, which is precisely what we will have needed here in the UK in mid-November.

A new challenge league is also coming to the game, where players can compete in activities such as races and precision landing tasks.

As for game details, there is now an improved physics system that increases the level of simulation detail.

A flight planning system will help you determine the best route and take note of the weather as well as fuel and payload planning.

One of the most notable new features is the ability to land anywhere in the world and step off your plane, where you can wander through 27 different biomes that include a detailed recreation of vegetation, wildlife and nature like rocks and flowers.
