Police say a man is dead after being stabbed in Vanier Monday evening.

On social media, police say emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Ste. Rue Monique around 8:00 p.m. for reports of a knife attack.

Paramedics say the victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, but died from his injuries.

Police say a suspect has been arrested, but no further details have been provided.

The homicide unit is investigating.
