PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport received a $10 million grant Monday for its terminal expansion project.

The award comes from a bipartisan Infrastructure Act grant, which ECP was one of 125 airports to receive.

“We are grateful to be one of the airports selected to receive this funding,” said Parker W. McClellan, executive director of ECP in a press release. “The grant will allow us to improve our facilities, improve the passenger experience and support the continued growth and demand of our region.

The $10 million is expected to fund an improved baggage handling area, more accessible restrooms and an expanded security screening area as part of the North Terminal expansion program.
