FCT, Abuja – Senate led by Godswill Akpabio will begin selection of seven ministerial candidates announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday October 29.

Legitime.ng recalls that President Tinubu sent the names candidates for Senate for consideration and confirmation of appointment as ministers.

The Senate President referred the nominees to the Committee of the Whole to continue legislative work as soon as possible.

Akpabio revealed this while reading President Tinubu’s letter during the plenary on Thursday, October 24.

According to the channels TelevisionThe Senate confirmation request came after Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet by sacking and redeploying some of his ministers.

The ministerial candidates are Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State Foreign Affairs), Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment) and Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour and Employment).

Others include Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development) and Suwaiba Ahmad (Public Education).

Legitime.ng reported that at least five ministers were sacked by President Bola Tinubu, Wednesday October 23, during his cabinet reshuffle.

In the meantime, Legitime.ng reported that the spokesperson of the National Youth Group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dare Glintstone Akinniyi, has reacted to the ministerial appointment of Bianca Ojukwu.

President Tinubu has appointed Bianca and six others to ministerial positions in his cabinet.

Akinniyi said the ministerial appointment of Bianca Ojukwu is purely political and has nothing to do with her background or abilities.
