How United feel about paying compensation for a new manager after Erik Ten Hag’s sacking gives important clue to their replacement plan

Manchester United have officially parted ways with Erik ten Hag as manager after almost an entire season of rumors and scrutiny over the Dutchman.

The defeat at West Ham United proved to be the final straw for Erik Ten Hag and he will leave United in 14th place in the table.

Combine that with 21st place in the Europa League table and his tenure had quickly reached an untenable status as the season quickly unfolded.

United have confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager of the team while they work on appointing a permanent manager.

Without any remarkable candidate presenting itself at the moment after Thomas Tuchel took England jobUnited may need to be ambitious and opt for a manager for the job now.

Man Utd’s stance on paying compensation

It was reported during the second international break that a factor in keeping Ten Hag in the job was the significant amount of compensation United would have to pay to fire him.

This is, of course, debunked by the club’s decision, but the choice to keep the rest of the staff likely saved the club millions in wages.

However, if none of the candidates currently available on the market appeal, they will have to broaden their search to people already in position.

It would require additional compensation to buy out the candidate from his current position, but the fact that United are willing to do so is a sign of United’s replacement plans.

TalkSport reports that United are not reluctant to pay compensation if it allows them to become their preferred candidate for the job.

This means their search will no longer be limited to unemployed managers, which is causing great optimism among leaders. Man Utd fans.

Interesting candidates with expanded search

Now that United are no longer worried about paying compensation, some interesting candidates will certainly enter the fray as potential replacements.

United have been linked with Thomas Frank in the past and they will only get stronger with this position.

Plus, if they want a young, forward-thinking manager, they could go to Ipswich and buy out Kieran McKenna’s contract there.

Sportsman Ruben Amorim is in the picture while Julian Nagelsmann, currently in Germany, would probably be many United fans’ dream candidate.

This crop of names is far more exciting and ambitious than current unemployed managers like Graham Potter or Xavi Hernandez.

They will no doubt still be questioned and consulted, but if money is no object, and it should not be for a position as important as United manager, then the club can afford to aim high.

Many would say the club made a mistake in not sacking Ten Hag sooner. but all is still not lost and the biggest decision for success is who will replace him.

They got off to a good start with this position.
