Draisaitl scores in overtime to lift Oilers to 3-2 win over Red Wings – Edmonton

Leon Draisaitl scored his second goal of the game 18 seconds into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Sunday night.

“All around, good night; great win for us,” Draisaitl said. “It’s always nice to come back in a game like that, find your game and start the road trip off right.”

Evan Bouchard also scored and Calvin Pickard stopped 24 shots to help the Oilers earn their second straight victory.

“We were sitting there and he obviously made some key saves in the first half,” head coach Kris Knoblauch said when asked about Pickard’s performance. “The workload was less in the second and third, but there were some important ones and we are very happy with the way he played.”
