Block 2026 filming location REVEALED

After twenty successful seasons, The block could abandon its iconic filming location of Victoria for Queensland!

In 2003, 2004 and 2010, the series was set in the affluent Sydney suburbs of Bondi, Manly and Vaucluse.

After a brief two-year sabbatical in Melbourne in 2011 and 2012, The block returned to New South Wales in 2013 where it was filmed once again in Bondi – but from the seventh season onwards, Victoria is the preferred state.

Where will The Block be filmed in 2026?

In October 2024, Channel Nine officially confirmed during its annual Upfronts event that The block 2025 will take place in regional Victoria town Daylesford – the venue originally planned for 2024 which instead took place at Phillip Island.

While filming for season 22 is well and truly in the future, a TV insider revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that Queensland could soon welcome The block for the very first time.

“This move is being considered and I think the fans are ready for it.”

“One of the judges was also heard publicly supporting this decision,” they added.

The source added that filming has remained in metropolitan Victoria for the past decade due to the production team “all having family in Melbourne”.

“Rumor has it that the scout working with executive producer Julian Cress has been asked to look out of state and try something new,” the source added.

Notably, the show is NOT filming in the city in 2024 – and two hours away. Phillip Island This year – saw long-time foreman Keith resignthe reality TV star revealing he couldn’t balance his The blocks commitments with those of his family.

But despite the potential loss of talent both on and off screen working on the series, the source said Channel Nine wanted to move forward with its plans.

“(They) want to liven up the show and they think the warmer weather could be a positive change for the contestants as well.”

It will be a closer ride for Shelley Craftshowever, who has been commuting from his Byron Bay home for over a decade!

As for the judge Marty Foxhe’s a big fan of the idea – revealing on The Crissie Swan Show on NOVA FM that he would love to see The block one day will be held at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.

“Seriously and this needs to happen,” Marty said.

“You need to get to Burleigh Heads. That would be crazy. The visuals, the beach, the energy, the people… That’s where it should be, I think.

“They will attract buyers from all over Australia, not just local,” he added.

“And land is actually not that expensive compared to trying to do things in Melbourne.”
