Pedestrian killed in collision with city bus in Surrey, RCMP say

A pedestrian died after being struck by a bus in Surrey on Sunday afternoon, RCMP said.

Police were called to the scene of the collision in the 7600 block of 128th Street around 2:45 p.m. Efforts were made to save the victim, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene. .

In a statement released Sunday, Surrey RCMP said collision analysts were examining the crash scene and its criminal team was investigating the cause of the fatal incident.

A small stretch of 128th Street, between 76th and 76A avenues, remained closed in both directions Sunday afternoon, with police advising drivers to expect significant delays in the area.

“The closure will remain in effect indefinitely while investigators examine the scene,” RCMP said.
