Just announced: The Golden Girls stage show is coming to Vancouver

The Golden Girls: the laughter continues tribute show comes to British Columbia for concert series stage performances including THE Vancouver Theater November 12-16. Also on the program are stops in Nanaimo (November 6), Victoria (November 9-10), Kelowna (November 19-21) and Chilliwack on November 23.

The stage show, which features an all-male cast, brings the sassy seniors from the hit TV series to life. The original television series, starring Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty, followed the lives of four older women (three widows and one divorcee) who shared a house in Miami. Emmy and Golden Globe Award Winner to show ran from 1985 to 1992.

In this new live-action show, eldest Golden Girl Sophia (Christopher Kamm) is released on bail after being arrested for running a drug ring that preyed on local retirees.

Meanwhile, Blanche (Vince Kelley) and Rose (Adam Graber) have launched CreakN, a new and popular dating app for seniors, and Sophia’s daughter Dorothy (Ryan Bernier) is in the middle of it all, trying just to keep things from going completely off the rails. while managing the whims of a new (much) younger “sex-crazed lover.”

“This show allows audiences to relive the heartfelt hilarity of these iconic friends, promising an evening filled with laughter and nostalgia,” reads an official statement from the show.

The show is written by Robert Leleux, author of The Memoirs of a Beautiful Boy and The Living End and is directed by Eric Swanson.
