HULL — Canadian international winger Liam Millar will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

The injury was sustained during Hull City’s 1-1 draw against Burnley in the English Second Division on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately my season is over,” Millar said in a social media post. “I would never have wanted something like this to happen, but unfortunately that’s football sometimes. I will continue to stay as positive as possible and take the time to improve as much as possible, and also to m “make sure you come back as strong as possible.”

Hull manager Tim Walter addresses Millar’s injury following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Derby County.

“He has an ACL (injury). He’s been out the whole season,” Walter said. “For him, it’s so frustrating – I’m so with him. I was so shocked and so was he. “It’s not about the club. It’s not about us, it’s about him. I’m really so sad to feel like I’m with him.

“It’s not easy at the moment but we will give him all the help we can. We support him with all our energy.

Millar had made 12 appearances for Hull since signing in the summer. He spent last season on loan at English club Preston North End from FC Basel in Switzerland.

The 25-year-old from Brampton, Ontario has won 35 caps for Canada with one goal and three assists.
