Redhill Library to reopen this summer after Raac’s work

A library building in Surrey will reopen this summer after being closed due to concerns about unsafe concrete.

Warwick Quadrant’s Redhill Library to reopen after extensive refurbishment and work to resolve reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete discovered in 2023.

The newly renovated library will include a children’s area, meeting rooms, a public computer and study space.

Deputy Leader of Surrey County Council, Denise Turner-Stewart, said: “Redhill Library was due to be refurbished as part of our transformation program and this is continuing, so the library which will open next summer will be a place we can all be very proud of. “.

The library is also temporarily moving to Belfry Shopping Center from its temporary site at Consort House.

It will be closed from November 9 at 5:00 p.m. GMT until November 18 at 9:30 a.m. in order to move to the mall, where it will remain until summer.
