Watch: Oilers’ Darnell Nurse battles Penguins’ Marcus Pettersson after nasty hit

Viktor Arvidsson had a breakout night for the Edmonton Oilers Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, recording three assists. en route to a 4-0 victory.

But his evening ended on a bitter note, because with a little more than five minutes remaining in the match, he was harshly eliminated in the boards. Arvidsson gained speed through the neutral zone chasing a thrown puck, beating Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson. As the pair approached the turn, Arvidsson blew a tire – partly due to Pettersson’s contact with it – as he hit the boards hard.

A brief melee ensued with teammate Leon Draisaitl going after Pettersson, while Oilers coach TD Forss came out to meet Arvidsson, who was skating alone off the ice, flexing his right hand.
