Six arrested after York Region burglaries: cops

Authorities in York Region are hoping to return stolen jewelry and other property to break-in victims after six people were arrested last week.

York Regional Police said three people from Vaughan and three from Toronto were arrested following the investigation, dubbed Project Black and Blue.

Police allege four people committed a break and enter in the area of Pine Valley Drive and Highway. 7, in Vaughan, just before 10 a.m. on October 18.

Shortly after, the same group allegedly committed a second break-in in the Langstaff Road area. and boulevard Valéria.

Cops said that around 12:40 p.m., a group of suspects were located by officers with the Integrated Property Crimes Task Force and they were arrested.

After obtaining five search warrants, officers arrested two additional suspects, police said.

Among the clothing, jewelry and valuables seized were designer watches, rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, handbags, handbags and sunglasses.

Due to the amount of property recovered, investigators believe there are additional victims who have not yet contacted police and are seeking to identify them so the stolen items can be returned, officers said.

Investigators are asking anyone who was the victim of a break-in into a residence between May and October to review the photos and contact police if any of the items belong to them. Police said there would be a process to verify ownership before any property was returned.

Levan Kabidze, 35, Grigoli Bibilashvili, 35, and Irakli Ivanov, 31, all of Toronto, as well as Aznori Charigodishvili, 37, Avtandil Tsiklauri, 36, and Elizbari Tsintsatdze, 32, of Vaughan, were charged with multiple counts of burglary and -enter commit.

Tsiklauri is also charged with breaking and entering with intent.
