Hearts fans’ thoughts on 2-0 win against Omonia

We asked for your thoughts on Hearts’ 2-0 win against Omonia in the Conference League.

Here’s what some of you said:

Richard: Hearts took a simple front-foot approach, moving the ball quickly when in possession and harassing Omonia players when out of possession. He paid dividends and did not allow them to settle. Once we got two up we did enough to hold them and that was it. We weren’t even half as good when we left them behind but hopefully we can get that up again when we want to.

Keith: Neil Critchley benefited from the good work done by Liam Fox. Players are playing in the right positions and the likes of Blair Spittal, Jorge Grant, Yan Dhanda and Alan Forrest are allowed to attack. If Lawrence Shankland starts scoring goals again we could be a real force.

Steve: The first half is what every Hearts fan is dying to see. We close down the opponent by fighting for every ball. Spittal looks great and plays in his best position. Frankie Kent is outstanding and his contract needs to be extended now, captain of the future? The crowd was treated to a special evening, we can’t wait until Sunday.

scott: Another great show following the thunder of St Mirren. Most of the actors, Dhanda, Spittal, James Penrice etc. They were good players individually, but Steven Naismith couldn’t figure out how to make them fit the way he wanted to play. Critchley had been at the door for two minutes and had settled the matter; We trust Critchball!

David: Performances like this, which we think we will see after the summer, show that football has become overly complex, often due to overcoaching. Pass the ball to someone wearing the same color jersey as you, ideally move forward and occasionally put the ball into the net, and that was without Beni Baningime, our best player.

Jim: It is clear that Naismith has surprised the team with his tactics, the team seem to be quite happy with the instructions they have been given in the last two games, the stats speak for themselves but not only that, the team is playing with a purpose and I must be looking forward to the Derby, I certainly am.

norrie: Many players seem to have escaped the shackles that restricted them at the beginning of the season. In the last two games, my attention was on the park, not the dugout. We have a good team and I’m definitely looking forward to it.
