Don’t Move’s ending announced

Before her twenty minutes are up and she is completely paralyzed, Iris manages to escape from Richard by jumping into a nearby river. However, when he reaches the shore, he cannot move at all.

She has three opportunities to escape from Richard, but they all go wrong.

He first goes to a farm and an old man helps him, but Richard appears and kills him, burning the farm. They later stop at a gas station, where a woman picks up strange vibrations and quietly calls the police.

Eventually a police officer approaches them (played by Bridgerton Star Daniel Francis comes very close to understanding what’s going on, despite Richard’s attempts to lie his way out of the situation. The police officer is also killed, and Iris’ last hope of rescue is dashed.

Richard’s plan is to take Iris, who is still paralyzed, to a cabin in the woods. He doesn’t specify what activities he’s planning for the weekend, but it’s clear the woman won’t make it out alive.

While in the car, Richard receives a call from his family, who are unaware of his criminal tendencies and inform him that they will be spending the weekend with him at the cabin. He is forced to change plans. “We could have had a great weekend together,” he says, but now he has to “jump on you.”

It seems his killing routine usually ends in a nearby lake, where he drowns his victims to get rid of all evidence incriminating him.

But before that, we learn why he became a serial killer after a tragic car accident that led to the death of his first wife.

“I found my clarity. I felt disconnected my whole life. Until those moments after the accident. I can still see the angle of her neck. The way the light reflected in the glass on her lap. And when I saw she was there As I took my last breath I finally felt connected. I relived that moment over and over again, lying in that bed “I tried to figure out if I felt God. And I finally realized that I did.”

His last words to her were “thank you”, because her death helped him realize this great truth. Now he wants to relieve that feeling again and again.

Having now regained some of her mobility in the middle of the lake, Iris makes one last desperate attempt to save herself.

He asks Richard to retrieve his son’s toy red boat, which he had hidden in his pocket earlier in the film. And he may be a monster, but he’s also a father, so that might be why he decided to fulfill her dying wish.

When he gets close enough, Iris steals a knife and stabs him in the face. He takes his gun and shoots him several times until he falls into the lake.

There is a final moment of panic as the boat begins to sink, but luckily Iris has regained control of her body and is able to swim to shore. The dying Richard also manages to get out of the lake, and as he breathes his last breath, he says “thank you”; this is a callback to his “I am actually God” story.

Richard dies and Iris escapes death only a few hours after contemplating saving her life from the pain of losing her son. Like the toy boat we see floating on the lake, Iris managed to swim back to the surface and chose to live.

don’t move is now available to watch on Netflix.
