Richard Allen’s trial begins in the third week. Keep up with updates on the Delphi murders

In 2022, after an expert tied a ball found at the crime scene near the Monon High Bridge the firearm of Delphi resident Richard Allen, he told state police that no one ever borrowed the Sig Sauer handgun, model P226, .40 caliber.

Allen, 52, is accused of murdering two teenagers who disappeared on February 13, 2017 and were found dead the next day. He was arrested in 2022 and faces two counts of murder and two counts of murder during kidnapping in connection with the deaths of Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German.

Indiana State Police Lt. Jerry Holeman returned to the podium Saturday morning during the trial in Carroll County Court, describing what Allen said and his behavior during the interview that led to his arrest.
