The warning was issued for Greater Victoria, the southern Gulf Islands and eastern Vancouver Island from Nanaimo to Campbell River.

A wind warning from Friday evening until Saturday morning resulted in the cancellation of two Friday evening ferry crossings.

BC Ferries has canceled the 8:15 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen to Duke Point and the 10:45 p.m. departure from Duke Point to Tsawwassen as a safety precaution.

The warning was issued for Greater Victoria, the southern Gulf Islands and eastern Vancouver Island from Nanaimo to Campbell River.

Environment Canada said southeasterly winds could reach 90 kilometers per hour in exposed coastal areas, with the possibility of tree branches breaking and falling on power lines.
