FIRST ALERT: WATCH THE WEEKEND

Hurricane Rafael continues to move across the western Caribbean and is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week as a hurricane.

Looking ahead to the weekend, several models suggest Rafael’s precipitation could move toward the Mississippi and Tennessee valleys, potentially bringing significant rain to those areas.

If moisture moves further east, we could also see additional rain chances locally. At the moment it looks like the heaviest rain will stay in the west and another lot will stay in the southeast.
