Italian Thomas Draca has become the first player from his country to register for the upcoming mega auction of IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League 2025). Notably, the bidding event for the biggest T20 league is scheduled to take place on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. For the event, a total of 1,574 players registered, including 1,165 Indians and 409 foreigners.

Among the 409 foreign playersThomas Jack Draca is the only player to have registered from Italy, as India Today has accessed the details of the players’ registrations. The right-arm seamer recently played for Brampton Wolves in the Global T20 Canada 2024 and impressed everyone with his performances. Draca was the second highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 wickets to his name in six innings at an average of 10.63 and an economy of 6.88.

His best performance of the season came against Surrey as he scalped 3/18 in four overs to help his team defend 198 and win the match by 59 runs. He further recorded figures of 3/10 and 3/30 against Mississauga and Surrey respectively, which helped his team finish in second place in the points table. Brampton were eliminated in Qualifier 2 of the tournament after losing to Toronto Nationals by five wickets.

Draca registers as an all-rounder for IPL auction

However, Draca’s tremendous exploits with the ball helped everyone take notice of the talented seamer. The Italian cricketer was also recently signed by MI Emirates for the upcoming ILT20 season in the UAE. The 24-year-old made his international debut earlier this year in June against Luxembourg and recorded bowling figures of 2/15 in four overs in his team’s 77-run win.

Draca has played four T20Is so far and has scalped eight wickets at an average of 8.50 and an economy of 4.25 with best figures of 3/9 against Isle of Man. For the IPL auction, Draca entered the all-rounder category at the base price of INR 30 Lakh. It remains to be seen if Draca will be selected by the franchises for the mega auction and if any team will show interest in bidding for the Italian cricketer.
