Michael Rhodes is the CEO of Ally Financial Inc., responsible for leading Ally’s evolution as a full-service financial services company, with the nation’s largest all-digital bank and a leading auto financing business . He also serves on the company’s board of directors. Rhodes has more than 25 years of experience in retail and consumer banking and a proven track record of implementing transformative digital, data and technology strategies. Prior to joining Ally in April 2024, Rhodes served as CEO and President of Discover Financial Services and President of Discover Bank, as well as a member of the board of directors of Discover Financial Services and Discover Bank. Prior to Discover, Rhodes spent over 12 years with TD Bank Group, as Group Head, Personal Banking in Canada. During his tenure at TD Bank, he also led credit card and merchant services in North America and served as head of innovation, technology and shared services. Earlier in his career, he held senior management positions at Bank of America and MBNA America Bank. He began his career as an engineer within a major engineering and scientific consulting company. Rhodes actively supports several important social causes and currently serves on the Duke University Board of Trustees, where he also chairs the Governance Committee. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in engineering from Duke University.
