When to expect election results in Fresno County

Fresno County election officials will release initial results shortly after 8 p.m. on election night, with two or three additional updates expected throughout the evening, according to County Clerk/Registrar of Voters James Kus .

Early results will include ballots returned through Saturday, Kus told GV Wire.

Here is the estimated results release schedule for the week, as provided by Kus:

Election Day

  • Shortly after 8 p.m.: elections return until November 2.
  • Between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.: Full or partial in-person voting at 10 voting centers that opened on October 30 (and at the downtown election headquarters that opened on October 7).
  • Between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.: Total or partial in-person voting from all voting centers.
  • Between 12:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.: A possible update with more in-person voting results.

THURSDAY

  • By 5 p.m.: Mail-in ballots were received from approximately November 3 through November 5, along with any other in-person results.

As voters return through Saturday for the races, GV Wire is following closely and should be part of the first update:

  • Fresno City Council District 6 — Roger Bonakdar vs. Nick Richardson: 39%
  • Fresno County Supervisor, District 2 — Steve Brandau (incumbent) vs. Garry Bredefeld: 37%
  • Fresno County Supervisor, District 3 — Sal Quintero (incumbent) vs. Luis Chavez: 21%

Multi-county races

Here are the returns through Saturday for the Assembly and Congressional races. However, they are not limited to Fresno County.

  • Assembly District 8 — David Tangipa, R-Clovis vs. George Radanovich, R-Mariposa: 41%
  • Assembly District 27 — Esmeralda Soria, D-Fresno (incumbent) vs. Joanna Garcia Rose, D-Atwater: 25%
  • Congressional District 22 — Jim Costa, D-Fresno (incumbent) vs. Michael Maher, R-Kingsburg: 23%
  • Congressional District 22 — John Duarte, R-Modesto (incumbent) vs. Adam Gray, D-Merced: 25%
  • Congressional District 22 — David Valadao, R-Kings County (incumbent) vs. Rudy Salas, D-Bakersfield: 21%
