Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon to miss several weeks with injury, sources say

The Nuggets had Aaron Gordon for all four minutes of Monday night’s win over the Toronto Raptors before leaving with a strained right calf.

They’ll have to get used to not having him in the rotation for much longer.

Denver’s starting power forward is expected to miss several weeks with his injury, a league source told the Denver Post, confirming a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania. Exactly what that means for the starting lineup is unclear, but with Jamal Murray also expected to miss his third game with a concussion on Wednesday, the Nuggets will likely have several bench players forced into extended time against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Gordon signed a four-year contract extension worth $133 million in October, that will keep him under contract in Denver through the 2028-29 season if he chooses. Under the terms of the deal, he earns a salary of $22.8 million this season and next.
