The Lions have the best record in the NFC at 7-1 and the best point differential all year. NFL at +110.

They had impressive wins against NFC contenders like the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys (before the Cowboys’ season was truly disastrous), and in their only loss to the Buccaneers, they edged out Tampa Bay 463 to 216.

The other three teams in the top five – the Ravens, Bills and 49ers – fall into the “need to see it to believe it” category:

  • The Bills haven’t been able to get over Patrick Mahomes’ playoff hump.
  • The Ravens have mostly disappointed with their playoff performances during the Lamar Jackson era.
  • As for the 49ers, they had their chance last year (and in 2020), but this season they struggled from the start due to injuries. Right now, the 4-4 Niners don’t even lead the NFC West. Still, if they can get healthy, they could easily go back to at least representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Here’s how we recommend betting on Super Bowl 59 odds right now.

Below, we’ll feature our best bet among the favorites, as well as the best longshot in early November.

Best bet to win Super Bowl 59: Chiefs (+420) FD

It’s chalk, but the Chiefs remain the best bet to win the Super Bowl, even as betting favorites. This team has either been the favorite or a top two team for the previous two seasons, and we all know how that turned out.

The Chiefs defense is really what changed everything for them, especially last season. For years it was the defense that held this team back, but it has completely turned it around the last two seasons.

This year, according to DVOA, the Chiefs have the third-best defense in the league. NFL. They completely shut down the running game, while allowing the fewest receiving yards to WRs in the NFL. Their only weakness is tight end protection, and that is mostly due to their design.

Their offense has been good again this year, as it is ninth best in the league, according to DVOA. There is reason to believe this unit will also improve offensively over the rest of the season.

KC lost key players in RB Isiah Pacheco and WR Rashee Rice, but it still boasts a top-10 offense thanks to the magic of Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

They have also made recent moves to improve their offense, signing Kareem Hunt and trading for DeAndre Hopkins, both of whom have already made a big impact.

Best Super Bowl 59 Longshot Bet: Packers (+2200) DK

As for our most bullish forecast, let’s go with the Green Bay Packers, who are still undervalued in the betting markets.

It’s been a strange season for the Packers, with quarterback Jordan Love missing a few games early in the year with a knee injury and then battling a groin strain over the past two weeks.

Taking a step back, however, we see a team that went 6-3 while suffering multiple injuries to its young star QB. Unfortunately, Green Bay’s 6-3 record only earns it third place in the brutal NFC North, behind the Lions and Vikings.

The Packers, however, remain the eighth best team in the standings. NFLaccording to DVOA, with both eighth offense and eighth defense. The defensive rating is particularly encouraging, since the Packers really struggled on that side of the ball last year.

If Love can get healthy and play at the same level he did at the end of the 2023 season, and Green Bay’s improved defense can continue to play at a high level, it’s not hard to see the Packers heading to the Super Bowl. 59.
