Thousands of people took to the streets of Israel on Tuesday evening, blocking intersections across the country, following news of the shooting. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Demonstrations were called against Jerusalem, Tel AvivHaifa and Caesarea.

In Jerusalem, thousands of protesters gathered on Azza Street, near Netanyahu’s home.

In Tel Aviv, protesters marched from Begin Road to Kaplan and blocked the Ayalon Highway, while others began blocking the Ra’anana intersection. In Haifa, protesters blocked the Horev intersection.

Yonatan Shamriz, brother of the late Alon Shamriz, who was kidnapped in Gaza and mistakenly killed by IDF soldiers, said: “If it is possible to remove a defense minister in the middle of a war, then it is possible to create a state commission of inquiry. right away.”

He added: “Today, a new red line was crossed in the scandalous conduct of the Israeli government and its leader, who fired a defense minister in the middle of a multi-front war, on the eve of a possible Iranian strike, and before the objectives of the war have been achieved.

“This is happening while tens of thousands of reservists are buckling under the burden on the front lines, tens of thousands have been evacuated from the north and south and the hostages have not yet returned,” Shamriz noted.

Earlier, protesters called for a “Gallant Night 2,” referring to a night of large protests following Gallant’s attempted dismissal during judicial reform. Following these massive protests, the shots were eventually withdrawn and the events set off a chain reaction that led to the reform being halted in favor of negotiations at the presidential residence.

The protest organization Brothers and Sisters in Arms called on Israelis to protest on Tuesday, saying “this is the second time the prime minister has tried to fire the defense minister who ensures the country’s security with his body – now in the middle of war.
