A man faces charges after being seen with an illegal weapon at a Main Street hotel.

Officers were dispatched to the hotel in the 700 block of Main Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday and arrested a suspect who was trying to hide in a suite, the Winnipeg Police Service said. Police seized a sawed-off shotgun and 45 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of approximately $2,000, WPS said.

A 40-year-old Winnipeg man faces charges.

“No one was injured or threatened during this incident,” police said in a new statement.
