Outer Banks Stars Tease Season 4 Character Growth and What’s to Come

Poguelandia: A Outer Banks Experience” returned to Los Angeles on Saturday before the the show season four, part two premiere, where fans, artists and cast members of the series came together in an immersive pop-up.

The pop-up included everything Outer Banks — the character surf shop, food inspired by the series and a concert closing the event with performances by Jungle, Remi Wolf and Glorilla. The second annual event is inspired by Netflix hit, which focuses on the haves (Kooks) and have-nots (Pogues), who navigate adolescence while on an island solving murders and mysteries.

Chase Stokes – who plays John B and suffers a lot of loss on the show – shared with The Hollywood Reporter how he channeled his character’s need for survival this season, saying, “I think as an artist we always go within for things like that.”

“I’m not someone who’s lucky enough to not have trauma in my life, so I think it was really kind of a deep dive and revisiting some experiences from my past that I really made to John B this season,” added the star. .

From the first season to first part of season four – released October 10 – the characters’ growing struggles included dealing with unhealthy family dynamics, friendship complications, and treasure hunts.

“I saw my character grow and become more and more stressed about the fact that his friends won’t be there anymore,” Rudy Paktow said. “I think he really wants to try to calm them down. And when Pope had the idea to make Poguelandia 2.0 his property that just created his world, I feel like that was exactly what he wanted.

Madelyn Cline added: “I think we’re on this healing journey now. But how much do we actually heal when we run? »

Other cast members, including Carlacia Grant and Jonathan “JD” Daviss, whose characters are usually the voice of reason within the team, spoke with THR about what’s going to happen this season for their characters.

“(Cleo) is going to see red,” Grant said. “She’s going to go through all the stages of grief and anger is one of them.” As for Daviss, who plays Pope, he explained, “In the end, they’re all really going to fall apart.”

Although the on-screen resolution of season four has yet to be seen, in real life the team has formed a close bond over the past five years while working on the series.

“You have a certain level of trust in the people around you and you know they’re going to show up and do their job as well,” Stokes said. “We’ve been like this for five years and it’s never changed.”

“It’s all the little moments that add up and are really my favorite parts,” Daviss added. “Any group of friends you have your jokes in, we could go off and talk entirely into our own little joke during all the conversations without anyone knowing what we’re talking about. So it’s been a blessing to have a group of people to come up with this in this way.

After the premiere, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the venue opened to fans for a DJ set, cast interactions and live musical performances, including Glorilla who performed her hits “Tomorrow » and “Wanna Be”.
