Election day is now here.

On Tuesday, November 5, the presidential race between the vice-president Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump ends and final votes will be cast.

Here’s everything you need to know to ensure your vote is counted, plus more information below.

How to make sure you are registered to vote

Anyone who has already registered to vote in previous elections does not need to re-register each year, unless there is a change of name, address or political affiliation.

Each state’s voter registration update or re-registration deadline can be found on the respective website. Board of Elections website.

How to find your polling location

Voters can usually find their designated polling places in public buildings such as schools, community centers, churches or municipal buildings. These locations are determined by their residential address and can be found by visiting their state or county election office website, as well as through Vote.org or the United States Election Assistance Commission website.

Nearly 78 million people have already voted, and in every state except Illinois, Missouri and Wyoming, voters can check the status of their ballot online.

For those who voted absentee or absentee, many states offer online databases where citizens can enter personal information, such as their name, date of birth and zip code, to check if their ballot vote has been counted.

Who is leading in the polls?

Trump and Harris are in a tight race in seven key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, with the candidates frequently alternating their lead depending on who latest polls.

A recent New York Times/A Siena poll, released Sunday, shows Harris ahead of Trump in North Carolina and Wisconsin. Trump continues to lead in Arizona, while the candidates are effectively tied in Pennsylvania, each receiving 48% of the vote.
