10th Annual NAAHP Conference in Atlanta Focuses on Haitian Diaspora Leadership

The National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP) is scheduled to host its 10th annual conference November 7-9, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. Under the theme “Unleash our power!” “, the event will focus on empowering Haitian professionals to drive lasting change in Haiti.

Starting November 9, Haitian professionals from across the United States. and beyond will come together to explore how their expertise and influence can help shape Haiti’s future. This year marks the 10th annual conference of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), a milestone that the organization is celebrating with a focused program on leadership and professional empowerment of the diaspora.

Titled “Unleash Our Power!” Create a new paradigm of professional excellence in the Haitian diaspora and mobilize for dignified leadership strategies in Haiti,” the conference is scheduled for November 7-9, 2024 at the Courtland Grand Hotel in Atlanta.

This year’s discussions will focus on the multifaceted roles that Haitian professionals play in contributing to the economic and social progress of the United States and in establishing sustainable and dignified development pathways in Haiti.

A series of panels, workshops and networking events will feature leaders from across the diaspora, with participants spanning fields from business and technology to education and healthcare.

Panels on decision making and leadership within the Haitian diaspora will include high-level speakers such as Dominique Dupuy, Haitian Minister for Haitians Living Abroad, and Guerline M. Jozef, founder of the Haitian Bridge Alliance.

Other speakers, such as U.S. Ambassador to Haiti Dennis B. Hankins and Philippe Bayard, president of Sunrise Airways, are expected to share their experiences in diplomacy, business and humanitarian work.

Among the strong points are two conference axes: Professional developmentwhich will provide tools and strategies for Haitian professionals to build stronger networks and advance their careers, and Engagement in Haiti and the Haitian diasporafocusing on concrete steps members of the diaspora can take to support initiatives with impact in Haiti.

“Positive change in Haiti must include diaspora participation and effective engagement. This conference provides a vital platform for action-oriented collaboration and meaningful impact,” said Marie Myka Texas, one of the conference organizers.

The NAAHP conference, now in its tenth year, has become a link between Haitian professionals and their allies, whose influence and reach has continued to grow since its creation in 2011.
