Pokemon TCG Pocket is already exploding Pokemon Go’s daily revenue

Pokémon TCG Pocket has gotten off to an impressive start, with its revenue seemingly surpassing that of Pokemon Go.

Acting as a mobile version of the Classic TCGPokemon Pocket has millions of active players since its worldwide release on October 30. As reported by The Pokémon Company on November 2, a staggering 10 million players installed the game and started to open the packages. Today, that number is expected to be around 12 million.

However, while the title is free-to-play, fans can purchase packs to unlock more cards and hopefully get rare or shiny rewards. It’s clear that this feature is inherently popular, as game revenue now exceeds that of Pokémon Go after just four days.

Although it is still early in terms of Pokémon TCG Pouches release, there are already signs pointing to its inherent success after mobilegamer.biz reported that the title grossed an impressive $12 million in just four days, an average of about $3 million every 24 hours.

Of this revenue, up to 45% comes from Japan, but the United States is the second largest player base, with 25% of revenue coming from the US market.

Interestingly, this overshadows Pokémon’s biggest mobile success, Pokemon Go, which currently generates around $1 million in revenue per day.

Naturally, the two games are different in their gameplay and player base, but both are free to play, both feature numerous microtransactions, and both have garnered a cult following since their release.

It’s worth mentioning that Pokemon TCG Pocket may be beating Pokemon Go currently, but it has nothing on the latter’s initial release in 2016, which saw 232 million players jump into it. The game generated over $1 billion in revenue in its first year. .

As such, the game will certainly need to explode in popularity to truly rival Pokemon Go. However, in their current state, Pokemon players could witness a rival in a previously untouchable adventure.
