GRANT PARISH, Louisiana (KALB) – A Pollock man is dead after a one-vehicle crash in Grant Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

On November 3, around 6:30 a.m., LSP responded to a report of a crash on Louisiana Highway 8, east of Pollock.

The accident claimed the life of 60-year-old James W. Bennett.

According to police, Bennett was traveling on the highway when, for reasons unknown at that time, his vehicle left the road and went down the embankment of the ditch where it struck a tree.

Bennett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.

This accident remains under investigation.
