CLEVELAND – A Northeast Ohio native is starring in a new holiday movie streaming on Hulu. “Christmas at the Ranch” stars Houston Rhines of Cuyahoga Falls and Emmy Award-winning actress Jade Harlow.

“I think growing up in Akron is an integral part of who you are. There’s a certain kind of thing. I don’t know what word to put on it, but people tend to know that, especially here in Los Angeles. They’re like, ‘Oh, you’re not from Los Angeles.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m from Ohio,'” Rhines said.

In the film, Rhines plays Corey Henderson, an equine therapist from Ohio.

“My character is a widower. He’s had to raise his daughter for the last few years and there’s a lot of love in that. And then there’s the girl who encourages me to go out, to move forward with my life. So, he There’s love in both aspects, there’s family love and romantic love,” Rhines said.

Rhines has previously appeared on Law and Order and Grey’s Anatomy.

“I love the energy that goes with it. I love Christmas, so if you’re making a Christmas movie and love Christmas, that’s perfect,” Rhines said.

Rhines is grateful for the great support system that cheers him on at home: “My mom will definitely take care of it, so we’ll probably be, you know, FaceTining together as it goes on because we tend to watch together when they come out.

Rhines continued: “My friends in Northeast Ohio, I’ve been blowing up their phones, telling them to make sure they’re watching. So, I think they’re going to watch! They’re ready to go .”

“Christmas on the Ranch” is now available on Hulu.
