With advance voting underway, Saskatoon residents are choosing who their mayor, city councilors and public and separate school board trustees will be – as election day approaches on November 13.

Advance voting began on November 1 and will end at 8 p.m. on November 4.

From November 5 to 7, advance voting for post-secondary education will take place at the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

On November 9, voters will be able to perform their ballets at a drive-thru polling station located in the City Hall parking lot near 4th Avenue.

Elections Saskatoon advises voters who cannot get to one of the polling stations due to a disability or limited mobility that they can request a representative to come to their home to help them vote from April 4 to November 9. .

Eligible voters have the option to request to vote by mail.

The online application is closed, but voters will still be able to submit their application form and identification no later than November 12 at 5 p.m.

Where to vote on election day?

Unlike advance voting, which allows you to vote at any polling location, regardless of where you live, on election day you must vote at the polling location assigned to the neighborhood in which you live.

Do I need to register?

Yes, Saskatoon voters must be registered so that Elections Saskatoon can ensure that only eligible, registered voters vote – and only vote once.

The pre-registration period ended Oct. 22, but residents can still register by filling out a voter registration form at the polling location they go to.

Who can vote?

For a person to be able to vote on election day, they must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months before election day and have resided in the city ​​of Saskatoon, or on land now part of the city of Saskatoon, for at least three consecutive months immediately before election day.

Which positions will be elected?

On Election Day, voters will receive a ballot to choose the mayor, ward councilor and public and separate school board trustees.

The municipal council is made up of 11 members including the mayor. A total of seven Catholic separate school board trustees will be elected, while each ward will elect one public school board trustee, meaning a total of 17 trustees will be elected.

Who is running in this election?

There will be 46 names on the ballots in total, according to Elections Saskatoon.

Five people are vying for the highest position in the city. They include Cary Tarasoff, Cynthia Block, Mike Harder, Don Atchison and Gordon Wyant.

What should I bring?

Voters in Saskatoon will need to bring one piece of government-issued photo identification or two pieces of information, each showing the voter’s name and at least one showing the voter’s address.
