Apple launches free iPhone 14 repair program

Apple has announced a new free repair program for iPhone 14 Plus models experiencing issues with the rear camera. The defect prevents the camera from showing a preview when in use. This program covers a small percentage of devices, whose eligibility is based on production dates between April 2023 and April 2024. If your device meets this criterion, you may qualify for a free repair. Customers who have already paid for a camera repair can request a refund from Apple.

To check if your device is eligible for repair, enter your serial number on Apple’s official repair program page (Click here). Notably, in Israel, unlike other countries, customers must visit official Apple service centers in Israel, including DCS, iDigital network and iStore, to benefit from this warranty.

Apple clarified that the repair program applies exclusively to iPhone 14 Plus models produced within the specified time frame. This does not extend to the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro models. Additionally, this repair program is a limited service specifically for the camera issue and does not extend the general warranty. Coverage for this repair program lasts three years from the date of purchase.

The iStore network said: “Official Apple service centers in Israel will provide eligible devices with repair services at network branches under Apple’s terms. »

The iDigital Network added: “Our policy aligns with Apple’s and we will assist customers with this specific issue. »
