Latest US elections: Trump and Harris hold rallies in key states as elections approach; shock poll puts Harris ahead in Iowa | US News

By Jess Sharplive reporter in Lititz, Pennsylvania

After keeping his supporters waiting for more than an hour, Donald Trump finally arrived at his rally in Lititz.

The district is located in the important swing state of Pennsylvania – a region that could make or break this election for the Republican nominee.

Wearing his recognizable red cap, the former president stands behind protective screens, while police surround the crowd.

“Let’s go Trump,” one member of the crowd shouts.

People wave and hold signs as he turns to look at each part of the audience.

Thousands of people are here bursting into applause and singing in the United States.

“A very, very special hello to Pennsylvania,” Mr. Trump begins.

“Do you prefer it now or four years ago?” » he asks.

He promises to lower inflation, tackle immigration and “bring back the American dream.”

He says the election is a choice between four more years of “incompetent fools” or the “greatest years” in American history.

“You’re fired, Kamala,” he told the crowd, prompting whistles and cheers. He says he’s “being mean to her” because she was never supposed to run for president.

He goes to call her a “low IQ person” – a woman in the crowd responds: “Come on, she’s dumber than a bag of rocks.”

Mr Trump turns on Joe Biden, saying the election was taken from the president ‘stupid’ like ‘taking candy from a baby’.

Much of his speech focused on voter fraud, saying machines should not be used to vote and that only paper ballots should be allowed and voter ID should be required.

The former Apprentice star also claims the media is corrupt and efforts are already being made to “steal the election.”

“These elections must be decided on Tuesday evening at 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. These are crooked people,” declares this 78-year-old man.

“I am running against a totally corrupt person,” he adds.

“Lock them up,” someone in the audience shouts. “Get them, Mr. Trump,” said another.

Trump attacks ‘fake media’

Mr. Trump also claims that the latest Iowa poll giving Kamala Harris the lead is “fake.”

“Our country is a crooked country and we are going to fix it,” he adds.

“I love not using those teleprompters anymore because the truth is coming out.”

He continues to talk about “fake news”, pointing out that there is a gap in his protective shield in front of the media section.

He says that means if someone wanted to shoot him, they would have to “shoot” the media first.

“It doesn’t bother me that much,” he said.

The crowd applauded and laughed in response.
