Harris appears on “Saturday Night Live”; Trump speaks in North Carolina

Voters came from far and wide to see former first lady Michelle Obama vote for Harris tonight in suburban Philadelphia, and some are regulars at campaign events in battleground states.

The event in Montgomery County is Stacey Hanley and John Kupetz’s third in the last two weeks alone, the couple told NBC News.

Both men already voted for Harris by mail in the swing state, he said — but not before attending a Trump rally.

“Last week we were at a Kamala Harris event in Philadelphia and the (Donald) Trump rally in State College,” Kupetz told NBC News.

“We wanted to see for ourselves what it would look like,” Hanley said. “We look at a lot of information and we wanted to see if what they are saying is true. You know, Kamala said, “Go see a Trump rally.” We did it.

During September’s only presidential debate, Harris said, “I invite you to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies.” …The only thing you won’t hear him talk about is you. You won’t hear him talk about your needs, dreams and desires.

Hanley, a lifelong registered independent, took it seriously.

“Most of my family is very Republican, all for Trump, and I want to be able to tell them that I actually saw both sides, and that I made my decision based on all the information that I have been able to gather, and not just from a simple one-sided point of view. And I always stand by Kamala,” she said.

The couple said that although they had “dressed” to fit in, the gathering was “quiet” with little interaction between attendees. Hanley said she wore “a red t-shirt” and “red, white and blue stuff because she was going ‘into enemy territory.’

“There were a lot of people when we first walked in, and that made us nervous, going, ‘Oh my God, all these people are here for him,'” Hanley observed, noting that Trump was in delay at the rally and that many supporters had left by the time he began his speech.

“But seeing the exodus that happened, that we saw on TV, and now we know it to be factual, gave me some hope that a lot of people were there for the same reason we were had to see it for themselves,” she said.
