One person injured in collision involving Ottawa Police Service cruiser

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a multi-vehicle collision involving an Ottawa Police Service cruiser in south Ottawa.

Emergency crews responded to the collision on Bank Street, at the corner of Johnston Road, shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Ottawa Police Service’s duty inspector said on social media that officers were on the scene of a “serious collision” and asked motorists to avoid the area.

CTV News Ottawa photos taken at the scene showed a badly damaged police SUV with the airbag deployed. A damaged vehicle was also on the sidewalk.

A spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service told CTV News Ottawa that one person was taken to hospital in stable condition. No further information about the victim was available.
