Florida jumps past Georgia on DJ Lagway 43-yard TD set up by Devin Moore INT

Florida scored the first touchdown of the Cocktail Party clash in Jacksonville to move past No. 2 Georgia early in the 2nd quarter.

The Bulldogs broke the ice with a basket in the 1st quarter. Early in the 2nd quarter, back-to-back big plays for the Gators shifted the momentum.

UGA was 4 plays into its third possession of the game in UF territory when Carson Beck made his first mistake. Devin Moore snagged the interception to give the Gators the ball.

The Gators decided to take a chance, and it paid off. Freshman quarterback DJ Lagway’s second completion of the day was to speedster Aidan Mizell for a 43-yard touchdown.

The touchdown gave Florida a 7-3 lead. UGA looked like it was going to regain the lead before Beck threw his second interception of the first half. Aaron Gates came up with the pick to give Florida the ball back with the lead.

The game is broadcast on ABC.
