    COLUMBUS, Ohio– Ohio State is back at Beaver Stadium hoping to extend its winning streak to eight games against Penn State.

    This will be easier said than done this time given the significant issues that have emerged in recent weeks. The Buckeyes still need a marquee win this season and must once again hit the road in a top-five game to get it. But this time, they will have to do it without their offensive line at full strength.

    Saturday is an important day for both head coaches. Ryan Day needs to keep OSU’s season alive. James Franklin must prove he can lead the Nittany Lions to big victories. It made for a high-pressure week with so much on the line.

    Ohio State is a 3.5-point favorite against Nebraska. Here’s how we predict the game will play out.

    Can Ohio State have enough moments to make up for its flaws?

    That’s basically how he won the last time he toured Beaver Stadium. All it took was a few players making a few plays that only a Buckeye can make and lead to a victory. Penn State is probably better positioned to control this game given the offensive line issues OSU faces. But if Ohio State’s stars can be stars when it’s time to be, it can make a difference. I count on it, even if things aren’t always pretty.

    All week I’ve been going back and forth with my predictions. Both teams have a lot of questions to answer on Saturday, making it difficult to decide on an outcome.

    So I’m going to rely on history. So often, this game presented a lingering storyline like, “Is this the Penn State team that can finally pull out a win against Ohio State?” In the Ryan Day era, the answer was always no. I will stick to the story until proven otherwise.

    Will Howard will do enough to get around the offensive line’s struggles, and the defense will get a crucial stop when it counts. Ohio State will improve to 7-1 before returning to Columbus.

    Penn State 27, Ohio State 23

    This is the first time in 20 games I’ve been on pace against Ohio State.

    The Buckeyes are in a bit of a shock, and I’m not too sure they’ll be able to stop it in time against a talented top 10 team on the road. The offensive line has a ton of question marks heading into Saturday and the defense appears to be trying to find its identity. It won’t be an easy atmosphere for Ohio State, although the Buckeyes experienced that with the Oregon game earlier this season. This is more of a choice questioning what Ohio State was like, rather than a choice about what Penn State can do.

    I just don’t have the confidence I thought I would have in Ohio State at this point in the season. They need to prove they can win a game in the fourth quarter.
