Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar is the only notable release from Tollywood this Diwali. The film has now arrived in theaters and as far as initial reactions are concerned, it is receiving a favorable response from the audience. Even before the film’s release, the film had created a good base for itself through positive internal reports, which led to an increase in advance bookings. Directed by Venky Atluri, the Tollywood period crime thriller also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramki and others in key roles. Dulquer is a rising star in the Telugu film industry and has his own fan following. Also, since there is no major competition in the Telugu states, other than Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, the film is expected to mark a good start. But is this going in the right direction? Talking about advance booking for Day 1, Lucky Baskhar closed his pre-sales at 1.25 million gross (excluding blocked seats) at the Indian box office. It includes more than 77,000 tickets sold across the country. The company was mainly from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which contributed 0.48 crore gross and 0.23 crore gross respectively.

It’s not huge, but it’s a decent answer for Lucky Baskhar. However, as early reviews and audience feedback are mostly positive, the film is expected to attract more visitors through over-the-counter ticket sales. The ongoing holiday season is also expected to provide momentum.

Considering the pre-sales and feedback, Lucky Baskhar aims to lock its first day at 4-6 million net at the Indian box office. If the current collection is in the same range, it will be a good start, and it will take a big leap over the weekend. For the uninformed, Dulquer’s Sita Ramam won 2.85 billion net on the first day, which then saw solid numbers with consistent attendance. In comparison, Dulquer’s latest version envisions a 40-110% higher aperture.
