Dale could discover Nancy’s biggest secret in New Revival

King of the Hill East now in preparation on a new revival series, and it may be time for Dale Gribble to discover that Joseph is not actually his biological son. King of the HillThe original series came to as perfect an ending as an animated series could hope for. It ended without much mystery for the rest of the characters and hinted that they would all be heading towards bright futures despite the fact that we would no longer be following them. Now that King of the Hill returns with a new series, there will undoubtedly be upheavals.

that of Joseph parentage had been one of the main subplots For King of the Hill Although Dale had nothing but love for his wife and son, it was made clear from the start that his son was in fact the biological child of John Redcorn, a man with whom Nancy Gribble had many relationships. . Although Dale was so paranoid and distrustful of the world around him, he never really doubted that Joseph was his son, despite what was obviously happening in front of him. But with the new episodes, it might finally happen and we might see how Dale feels about it all.

Will Dale discover the existence of Joseph?

According to updates from people involved in production, King of the HillThe new revival series takes place almost a decade after the events of the original series. This means that almost ten years have passed as Joseph continues to age, and John Redcorn himself is probably losing patience with the fact that he is not as involved in his biological son’s life as he would like. . This was one of the key plot points of the original series between Dale and John, but the two eventually formed a friendship that seemed to temporarily smooth things over between them.

But ten years is a very, very long time. Many changes have been made to the characters in the series, they don’t just get older. Joseph himself has always been curious about why he seems so different from his parents, and an adult Joseph is even more likely to have finally made the connection. This is something that could have even happened off-screen in the years leading up to the stories in the new series we’ll see when they premiere.

Why Dale doesn’t care

But whether or not Dale will realize that Nancy cheated on him ultimately won’t matter. Although he may have felt betrayed by Nancy, Dale still showed nothing but love for his son. As seen several times in the original King of the Hill series, Dale is a great father. Although he has his faults when it comes to agreeing with his son, the two ultimately share a very close bond. It even got to the point where Dale was challenged by the idea that Joseph is not directly his biological son and he didn’t back down.

In the season 6 episode, “Of Mice and Little Green Men”,ยป Dale was actually confronted with the idea that Joseph was not his son. It was in a roundabout way because he believed aliens had impregnated his wife, and it was Hank who talked him out of giving it up. Hank told Dale that he was the one who was there during all the important moments in Joseph’s life and was therefore his father. This was what Dale needed, and so he could confidently claim Joseph as his own. In true Dale fashion (even while convincing himself that he must have been abducted and that it was his genes that Nancy had been implanted with), Dale overcame his doubts that the son in front of him was not his.

So even if he finds out that Joseph is not his own biological son, he has already gone through the process of accepting Joseph anyway. He has already overcome his doubts and loves Joseph as his son anyway. It won’t change his relationship with his son, and while it might change things in his relationships with Nancy and John Redcorn, in the end, Dale will always love Joseph regardless.

Dale might already know, anyway

There’s also a good chance that Dale already knows about all of this anyway. In addition to “Of Mice and Little Green Men” teasing that Dale already suspected that Joseph wasn’t his own son, there were a few key instances that allowed Dale to put the pieces together on his own. It is said that Dale may be too unconscious to truly understand what is happening to him (which adds to the tragic irony of his paranoia), but it could also be that he has already fully accepted reality and he simply does not recognize it outwardly.

The two big examples you can point to are the “Vision Quest” from season 7, as Dale literally sees his subconscious telling him that John Redcorn is Joseph’s father. The second is season 12’s “Untitled Black McCormick Project,” where John Redcorn’s surprise daughter shows up in the neighborhood and Dale discovers she shares similar DNA with Joseph. In both cases, his thoughts stray so far from the topic that he convinces himself he is still genetically involved. What this importantly shows is that deep down, Dale probably understands that Joseph is not his.

So while King of the Hill A new awakening could be the moment Dale finally understands that Joseph is not his genetic son, nor is it the first time he has discovered this fact. We’ve seen several examples of Dale coming face to face with this reality and then ignoring it, so it’ll likely be the same case here. But there’s unfortunately one big difference this time around, and that’s Johnny Hardwick’s role in the overall revival.

Johnny Hardwick, Dale Gribble’s voice actor, could only have recorded “a few” of its episodes before his tragic death. If this big scene were to happen, it might not be in one of these episodes. If Dale is recast for the future of the series, then it would be weird to do this kind of story without the famous actor who brought him to life in the first place. It’s a tightrope to walk, but the King of the Hill The team is probably very up to the task for this new revival.
